Risivi & Co sells jewellery online on WooCommerce. When I started, the catalogue had grown by accumulation: descriptions missing or copy-pasted, categories assigned at random, duplicate product codes, and redirects split across two systems that never talked to each other.
I rewrote all 291 products family by family — necklaces first, then rings, bracelets, pendants, earrings — so the copy within a line holds together. Every product has a hand-written SEO title under 60 characters, a meta description under 155, one focus phrase, exactly two categories, and no tags. That is seven checks, and all 291 pass them.
Bulk edits do not happen by hand: they run through Python scripts on the WooCommerce REST API. A change of rule reapplies to the whole catalogue in minutes, is verified with a query, and can be repeated identically a month later.
The trickiest part was the redirects. Two lists existed: one inside WordPress and one on the server, which ran first and silently overrode the other with no way to tell from the admin panel. I merged them into one place, repointed the broken ones, shortened the chains and checked that every address actually lands where it should: 1,064 out of 1,064.
Alongside: category pages rewritten, indexing cleared of errors, shop ordering automated by availability, and speed optimisations tested on a staging environment before going to production.
