Fit&Lab

Gym app, on the App Store

The iOS and Android app of a real gym: members see their plans, trainers assign and update them. Backend, front-end and publishing, on my own.

Fit&Lab, the site on mobile

Fit&Lab is a gym’s app, and it is the project where I did everything: the server, the database, the interface, publishing to the stores. It is in production and real people use it, which is why it matters to me more than any experiment.

There are two worlds inside the same application. The member logs in and finds the day’s plan, the exercise list, their training history, and can request a new plan. The trainer sees their clients, builds plans exercise by exercise, handles incoming requests and approves registrations.

The backend is Node with Express and MongoDB, with token authentication, hashed passwords and middleware separating the two areas. There are transactional emails for sign-up and password reset, PDF generation of plans, and scheduled jobs for recurring work.

The client is React with Ionic, packaged for iOS and Android with Capacitor: one codebase for both platforms, with persistent login, native sharing and status bar. The app is published on the App Store; the Android build is distributed directly.
